The Tail End of 2015

We went to our first Boxing Day party at Allison and Dave Boyle's house at the country club.  It was too cold to be outside.

Cheryl and Bill invited us over to their place for an early afternoon happy hour.  They live in the little white rental that overlooks the La Palapa beach.

They decorated this tree with beads and lights and a
Canadian flag.  The hummingbirds kept us company.

We hadn't been up to the Nacapule Canyon area since we've been here, so we drove up there and wandered about.  There are lots of new roads up there.  It looks like there may be more development up there sometime in the near future.

One of those glassy afternoons on the water.  Just hanging out on the deck
is one of our very favorite things to do.  A cloudy day can be wonderful, too.

Karen and Jim invited us to hang out with their family at La Palapa Griega.

Boo and I walked around the estuary one day.  So peaceful and beautiful and
one of Boo's favorite things to do!
I somehow managed to get up early on the 31st and joined the birding group.  We found some wonderful places for bird watching.

Piedras Pintas

Birders-can you tell?

This is a verdin nest-a beautiful work of art!

We were pretty tired but managed to attend two New Year's Day parties.

Elizabeth is known for her sausage and biscuit breakfast
Later that day Cynthia and Bill had a party at their wonderful home in Tecali.  It was Bill's 75th birthday.

Looking good at 65 and 75

Such a comfortable, inviting home-it used to be Dan Blocker's

Jim and Lynne Anderson with the two guys who run the
Ocean Camp trips-I'm dying to go on one but we have Boo
and we don't like leaving him with anyone.

The Smiths-these lovely people live in Anacortes, where
we plan to spend time next summer.  They have offered to
have us in their yard in Maxine!
