We arrived at Jason's house in Longmont on Wednesday afternoon, driving through a huge rainstorm from Grand Junction. We unloaded and began re-organizing for the next few days. On Saturday, I was drawn to driving down to Denver to see the 1968 Exhibit at the Historical Museum. It was great reminiscing about all that that year held for this country-Viet Nam War protests, MLK and RFK assassinations, love-ins, bra burnings, the music, etc. I also stopped at Trader Joe's to load up on inexpensive wines.
Mother's Day found me reminiscing and missing my Mom and trying to find pictures of her from the old days. The photos are all boxed up in Jason's basement and I couldn't find any old ones, but I did find this sweet picture of her with all her grandchildren in Hershey, PA.
And I kept thinking that, if it wasn't for my kids, I wouldn't be a mom so I posted these on Facebook and thanked them for letting me be their mom. I'm feeling a little sad that the girls are not here today.
We went over to Sarah Huntley's house for a delightful rainy day meal inside. It was wonderful to meet her, her two daughters, their dog, Brownie, and her mom, Susan. We are so happy for Jason.

The girls, Abby and Maddy, performed the one song they both new on their guitars. They also showed us all their art projects-obviously darling, smart girls.

I brought sundaes. Abby's bowl cracked me up!
Saturday night we had planned a marriage celebration for Diana and Steve, who married themselves back in January. We waited until Jim and I got back and could be part of the festivities. It was such a lovely evening. We all dressed up. Merry made bouquets for us and we had a fabulous meal.

Next was a great get together on the roof of the Rio, where it just poured! But, we didn't let that deter us from hanging in there and having a great time.
Devon surprised us all when she stopped by with baby, Tessa.
We were all so happy to see Devon and the baby. Boy, does Devon look happy! Donna came later, after pictures.
It was a beautiful morning before the rains settled in that afternoon-AGAIN! It is one of the rainiest springs that I remember. The good thing is that everything is really green.
I forgot to get a picture of Kathy, who was looking wonderful, as always.
