We arrived at Lake Erie: 6654 Manchester Beach Rd, Fairview, PA around noon on August 18th. It was a welcome sight to see and especially wonderful to have a full set of the generations to greet us. John and Suzy, Laura (Suzy's mom), Julie (my niece), her husband, Joe and their sons, Jeffrey and CJ.

| The boys on their fishing excursion (no fish). |
| Well, there was one catch! |
| The ice man cometh |
| The boys busied themselves with chores. |
| Julie and I with coloring |
And, there was lots of visiting and gazing out at our fantastic view when the weather was wonderful.
And, when the weather wasn't, there was more coloring, games, reading, visiting and relaxing.
| The sunsets were incredible. Doesn't this look like a third eye?! |
| The boys got in alot of baseball while admiring the view.... |
And, often, they were the view!
There was fire building, sunset watching, swimming and playing with the dogs and the canoe.....
| Ranger learned how to swim. |
The boys survived this outing. Later, Joe and Julie
capsized, only to discover it wasn't at all scary and-the
most important thing: Julie saved her hat. |
| Some of us enjoyed a libation while others took to the waters. |
And others of us were exhausted from chasing the evil
beings in the lake. |
| Mostly, these two became friends. |
| Good thing the fire wasn't lit! |
Suzy even ventured down to the water when it
wasn't too hot. |
And there were walks along the beach, up the road and
"nature walks" down the creek by all. |
The sunsets were never boring.
John accompanied Laura to church on Sunday, much to God's surprise!
| Looking very handsome |
| CJ was excellent at surprising us! |
This boy has alot of energy and is incredibly
entertaining! He is really bright and
takes wonderful pictures. I am hoping to
add some of them to this blog. |
All participate in the building of the perfect fire. Each day
there is more wood to be found. |
| Moon gazing in the early evening |
| The weeding done earlier in the day contributes to a gigantic fire. |
On the last day of our visit, my old Haskell Drive neighbor and best friend, Carole, and her husband, Len came to visit. We have known each other since 7th grade. We still have so much in common. Len braved the very rough waters, while the rest of us just kibitzed and let the wind roll us about.
